Liberal Democrats say, "support our local pools"

We  believe the Conservative County Council should step up to the mark and properly fund their local community pools.

Stuart Langhorn who is leader of Lancaster City Council and our PPC , has implemented a series of initiatives since coming to office.   As Stuart explained,

these follow key Lib Dem values of fairness, and local residents having a real say on how their District is run

In the first ever public consultation on the budget, we have found that most residents want to see core community facilities retained, even if it means a ‘with inflation’ increase in their Council Tax.  We support this approach, and oppose the cuts and closures to community facilities required by the Conservatives rigid ‘no council tax increase’.  We think they should be prepared to spend money on services people want.

At a recent Wray School Governors meeting, Lib Dem Councillor Joyce Pritchard was informed that Hornby pool also provides local school children with an opportunity for swimming lessons.  This will be lost if the pool closes.

There is a real difference in Lib Dem values and how we do things, when compared to the Conservatives.  So residents do have a choice in the approach they prefer at election time.
