Lib Dems support Storey Gallery Re-Launch

The Gallery occupies one of the finest visual arts spaces in North West England.
The Storey Gallery is:
…an independent artist-centred publicly-funded gallery. It commissions, promotes and presents a programme of contemporary visual art by nationally and internationally significant artists. The Gallery aims to nurture, commission and research innovative and challenging practice in visual art. All activity is centred around engagement with audiences, and aims to stimulate critical thought, debate and reflection.
The Storey Gallery is located in the Storey Institute, a grand nineteenth century building in the centre of Lancaster. The Gallery occupies one of the finest visual arts spaces in North West England, which is admired by artists and curators from across the UK. – (Source)

Thiss an excellent space and the Storey has a real buzz about it now. Lib Dems on the Council backed the project and called for the Council to support it rather than sell the building. London artists say the gallery is a unique space with high ceiling and natural light – so there is great potential for the building
